Rep. Sonya Harper has opposed school closings in Chicago Public Schools. In 2018, when CPS announced the proposal to close all of the public high schools in West Englewood and Englewood, Harper successfully helped advocate for those schools to remain open, resulting in three of the neighborhood’s four schools remaining open.
